Mehbooba Mufti Pays Glowing Tribute To Martyrs of July 1931: A Commitment to Justice and Equality

 

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir – On the solemn occasion of the martyrdom of the martyrs of July 13, 1931, the former Chief Minister and the President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, pays heartfelt tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for justice and the rights of the people during the oppressive rule of the Maharaja.

In her statement, Ms. Mufti emphasized the enduring significance of the 1931 martyrs in the collective memory of Jammu and Kashmir. “The martyrs of July 13, 1931, are a beacon of courage and sacrifice. Their struggle against tyranny and their fight for justice laid the foundation against injustice meted out towards Kashmir,” said Ms. Mufti.

Ms. Mufti reiterated the need for continued vigilance and dedication to the principles of democracy, human rights, and social justice. “As we remember our martyrs, it is imperative to renew our commitment to the values they stood for – equality, freedom, and justice for all. Our party remains steadfast in advocating for the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” she added.

Ms. Mufti called for unity and resilience among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, urging them to draw inspiration from the martyrs’ legacy. “In these challenging times, let us draw strength from the sacrifices of our forefathers. Let their courage inspire us to strive for a peaceful, just, and prosperous future for all,” she stated.

The People’s Democratic Party honors the memory of the 1931 martyrs with a pledge to uphold their legacy and continue the struggle for justice and dignity for every individual in Jammu and Kashmir. Ms. Mufti reaffirmed the party’s dedication to fostering an environment of peace, development, and inclusive growth in the region.

“Let us remember and honor our martyrs not just in words but through our actions, ensuring that their sacrifices were not in vain,” Ms. Mufti concluded.
