Market checking held in Zainpora, Rs 3200 fine recovered

Zainpora, Apr 17: Revenue department in collaboration with Food Safety and Illegal Meteorology department on Saturday carried out a specialised drive in main Market Zainpora, Shopian.

An official told ANN reporter Saima Khan that the checking was aimed at ensuring availability of quality products and to curb black marketing, profiteering of essential commodities in view of the rising demand during the holy month of Ramadhan.

During the checking a fine of Rs. 3200 was realized from erring shopkeepers as mandated under food safety and standard act and essential commodities act, he said.

The Checking squad also interacted with the shopkeepers and urged them to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines issued by administration for the safety of the public, official said.

The drive was conducted under the overall supervision of SDM Zainapora, he added.
