Man arrested for killing his cousin brother in Srinagar

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a tragic incident, a man killed his cousin brother by stabbing him with sharp edged weapon in Parimpora area of Srinagar on Sunday.

“The man identified as Amir Razak Mir, son Ab Razak Mir, a resident of Parimpora Srinagar suffered critical injuries after being stabbed by his cousin brother during a scuffle over parking of vehicle near their shops,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.

“The injured man was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment, however he was declared brought dead on arrival,” they said.

“In this regard, police took the cognizance of the incident and registered a FIR No. 114/2024 under section of 103 BNS in Police Station Parimpora and arrested the accused person namely Zareef Ahmed Mir, son of Ab Raheem Mir, a resident of Parimpora Srinagar,” they said.

“The weapon of offence has also been recovered. Further investigation into the case is going on,” the statement added. — (KIMS)
