Major NIA crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami in Jammu & Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 08 : National Investigation Agency (NIA) with assistance of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF raided around 40 locations on Sunday across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a case registered by them against banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami.
Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that all but fourty locations were raided by the probing agency NIA with assistance of Jammu and Kashmir Police along with CRPF in connection with a case registered against banned organization Jamaat E Islami.
They said that NIA conducted raids to check resurgence of Jamaat-e-Islami activities in Jammu and Kashmir adding that a senior DIG and a team from New Delhi had flown to Srinagar before the raids.
Reliable sources said that in Srinagar searches are being carried out in the residence of Gazi Moin-ul Islam, a resident of Soura and Falah E Aam Trust in Nowgam.
In Anantnag residential houses of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Hassan Wani, Nazir Ahmad Raina son of Ghulam Rasool Raina, both resident of Lohersenzi are of Kokernag, Farooq Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Yaqoob Khan, a resident of Sundbrbare Kokernag, Aftaq Ahmad Mir resident of Badoora Achabal and Ahmadullah Parrey resident of Khiram Bijbehara.
In Budgam searches are being carried out in the residences of many Jamaat leaders including Dr Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Wani and Gulzar Ahmad Shah all residents of Soibugh Budgam.
In Bandipora Ex Jamaat president’s residence is being searched. He was identified as Mohammad Sikander Malik son of Abdul Ghani Malik, a resident of Gundpora.
Similarly searches are being carried out in Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Pulwama, Ramban, Doda and many other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. (KDC)
