Lift defunct again in GMC Baramulla, patients suffer

Baramulla:03 June: Due to the carelessness of the health department hundreds of patients from North Kashmir are badly suffering due to the non-functional lift in GMC Baramulla

In absence of the lift facilities, surgical patients and attendants are forced to use stairways. The scenes of attendants ferrying critical patients on their shoulders for post-operative care were often witnessed.

Dozens of patients while talking to Media Reporter Umar Rashid alleged that surgical as well as delivery patients are badly suffering to reach wards which are located on the first floor and 2nd floor of the hospital.

In this regard GMC Administration said that the motor of the lift has been defective we have informed the technical team and they will replace the motor and the lift will resume within days.

Meanwhile, patients requested higher authorities to repair the lift or to install a new lift so that patients will get relief otherwise they are facing serious problems to reach the 2nd floor after surgery.
