SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve health outcomes and ensure access to quality healthcare for all.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the 200-bedded Amandeep BR Medicity Hospital, established in collaboration with Ujala Cygnus Healthcare, at Tengpora-Bemina Bypass in Srinagar.
The hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced medical technology, will provide quality healthcare services to the people.
Sinha said that since 2020, modern healthcare facilities have been developed across Jammu and Kashmir, including well-equipped hospitals, a record increase in MBBS and nursing seats to ensure adequate numbers of qualified professionals, and strengthened healthcare delivery in remote areas through thousands of health and wellness centres.

Around 90 percent of the population is covered under the Rs 5 lakh universal health coverage scheme. Our health infrastructure has improved and we are also attracting private investments in the health sector,” Sinha said.
He also called for the judicious use of available resources to meet patient needs with compassion, sensitivity, and dedication.
