Srinagar, Oct 19 (ANN): In a significant development following the formation of the new Jammu and Kashmir government, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has allocated key portfolios to the recently sworn-in ministers. The allocation comes in accordance with Rule 4(2) of the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary Receives Major Responsibilities
Surinder Kumar Choudhary, who holds the position of Deputy Chief Minister, has been entrusted with a broad range of vital portfolios. He will oversee the Public Works Department (R&B), Industries & Commerce, Mining, Labour & Employment, and Skill Development. These departments are crucial to the economic growth and infrastructure development of the Union Territory. Choudhary’s experience and leadership will be closely watched as he spearheads these sectors.
Sakeena Itoo to Lead Health, Education, and Social Welfare
Sakeena Itoo has been given charge of several critical portfolios, including Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare. The order also mentioned that any other departments or subjects not allocated to a specific minister will be managed under the oversight of the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
