Law students express gratitude to School of Law, KU authorities for resolving issues

Srinagar, Dec 4: The executive body of law students on Saturday expressed gratitude to School of Law and Kashmir University authorities for fulfilling their “genuine demands.”
In a handout issued here, a senior executive member of law students, Majid Hussain Mir, said that KU authorities invited law students on table wherein threadbare discussion was held about grievances and their redressal.
“After the successful negotiations between law students and KU authorities, School of Law, KU, finally issued notification on 3 December, this year, December 2021, redressing the issues and grievances put forth by law students. We are satisfied now as issues have been resolved,” Mir said.
The students have thanked the School of Law, KU authorities for taking these students friendly measures.
“We are also thankful to all law students who participated in peaceful protests, especially female students who joined the peaceful protests till late evening to press for genuine demands. We also exude confidence that in future talks on table for any kind of matter would be a way to resolve issues and students are not forced to hit streets to get attention of authorities,” Mir said.
He added that in view of surge in COVID19 positive cases, KU authorities must take appropriate decisions and online mode of exams may be best in that direction.
The law students had been hitting streets to press for their demands related to their scheduled end semester exams. After several rounds of talks, finally KU invited them for negotiations wherein deadlock ended on 3 December, this year.
