Lady drug peddler arrested in Awantipora, Charas recovered: Police
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — While continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested lady drug peddler in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Wednesday and recovered contraband substances from her possession.
“After receiving reliable information regarding presence of contraband in a residential house at Larkipora, a party of Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora and led by SHO Police Station Awantipora Khalid Fayaz along with Tehsildar Awantipora raided the said house,” police said in a statement.
“During the search, 20.500 kgs of Charas like substance has been recovered from the residential house of a lady namely Fareeda Akhter, a resident of Larkipora. She has been arrested for her involvement in the commission of the crime,” the statement said.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 173/2024 under relevant provisions of law has been registered in police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated. — (KIMS)
