KULGAM POLICE ORGANISED SPORTS EVENT (T-20 CRICKET MATCH) for Specially Abled (Divyang) in DISTRICT KULGAM

SSP Kulgam *Dr G.V Sundeep Chakravarty-IPS* organised T-20 cricket match between Specially Abled Persons (Divyang) of District Kulgam under its *Civic action programme* to inculcate the sense of sportsmanship and Amity among the participants and with the objective to provide them a platform so that they can exhibit their talent and hone their skills. The match was played not only to boost the morale of Specially Abled persons of the District but it can emerge as a pivotal of push in making these persons strong and confident so that they can compete in any challenge ahead in their life.

The match was played between Kulgam Blues and Kulgam Reds in which toss was won by Kulgam Blues who opted to bat first and played with extraordinary enthusiasm and scored 155 Runs with the important contribution *Umar Ahmad Shah* who was later adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his alround performance of scoring 50 Runs and taking 02 important wickets at crucial time for his team; while chasing the target Kulgam Reds were bundled out on 95 and lost the match by *61* runs at Sports stadium Kulgam which was witnessed by a huge gathering of the sports lovers.

While speaking on the occasion, SSP kulgam interacted with participants and applauded the efforts put forth by them and encouraged them. Also SSP Kulgam distributed Prizes including Cash Prizes, Trophies and Kits among both the teams. Chairman municipal committee Kulgam Shri Muneeb Ahmad Zargar , DySP HQR Kulgam shri *Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS* and SHO Kulgam Insp *Jazib Mohammad* were also present to grace the occasion.

Community members especially the participants have shown extraordinary enthusiasm and applauded the *Kulgam Police* for organizing the event to boost their morale and expressed hope that more platforms will provide to them in future too.
