Kulgam: Militant Killed, two soldiers injured in on-going encounter
Kulgam, July 17: A militant has been killed while as two soldiers have been injured in an ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Nagnad village of DH Pora belt of South kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning.
An official told News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a militant has been killed and 2 soliders received injuries in an exchange of fire while as operation is on in the area.
Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 9 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
Penitently 131 militants including some top commanders have been killed in an ongoing year so far. (KNO)
