Kulgam encounter: Civilian, Army man injured
‘No fresh contact established with militants, searches on’
Srinagar, Aug 05 : A civilian and an Army man were injured in an encounter at Redwani area of Kulgam district on Friday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint of team of Army, police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
He said that during the exchange of fire, one civilian and an Army man were injured, who have rushed to the hospital for treatment.
He further added that after initial exchange of fire, no fresh contact was established with militants, however, the searches are going on in the area—(KNO)
