KU Prof, cop among three sacked for terror links

Srinagar, May 13: The Jammu and Kashmir administration Friday sacked three more employees, including a Kashmir University Professor for allegedly working for various terror groups, officials said.

He decision to dismiss them from the services was taken by administration after being satisfied by considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available.

“The activities of Altaf Hussain Pandit, Professor in Chemistry Department, University of Kashmir are such as to warrant his dismissal from service,” reads the order, a copy which lies with ANN News.

“Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Altaf Hussain Pandit from service, with immediate effect,” it adds.

An official said that Pandit has remained active member of secessionist organizations and also have illegally crossed border in 1990s for armed training.

In a separate order, the services of another government employee, Muhammad Maqbool Hajam, a teacher of school education department has been sacked over the alleged terror links.

The Police constable Ghulam Rasool has also been sacked for working as an underground supporter of militants.
