Kidnapped girl rescued in Kulgam, accused arrested: Police
Kulgam: Kulgam police on Saturday claimed to have rescued a kidnapped girl and arrested the kidnapper at Damhal Hanjpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
In a statement issued to media police spokesperson said, Police Station D H Pora on 03.11.2020 received a written complaint from a person that his daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped by one namely Mushtaq Ahmad Paswal S/O Faqeer Mohammad resident of Tangmarg Manzgam.
Acting promptly upon the complaint Case with FIR No. 168/2020 U/S 366 IPC was registered in Police Station D H Pora and investigation was set into motion. On tip off a team headed by SHO D H Pora Insp. Abdul Ahad under the supervision of SDPO D H Pora Shri. Aashiq Hussain-JKPS was constituted to rescue the kidnapped girl and to nab the Culprit, spokesperson said.
Utilizing all available means, with strenuous efforts specific information was generated by the investigating team which led in rescuing the kidnapped girl and arrested the accused involved in committing the crime. Further investigation regarding the incident is in process, he further said.
General public especially the family members of the rescued girl applauded the strenuous put forth by Kulgam police in rescuing their girl, added in a statement.
