Kashmiri Pandit Group Panun Kashmir Criticises BJP-Led Govt Over Militancy Incidents In J&K
JAMMU: A migrant Kashmiri Pandit group on Thursday criticised the BJP-led government for โrisingโ militancy incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded a review into the โpolitical and strategicโ perspectives in the war against militancy.
Panun Kashmir also opposed dialogue between the Centre and separatist Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) which has expressed its willingness to participate in the next Assembly elections after leading poll-boycott campaigns over the past three decades.
โThe strategic wisdom of the central government made it ignore the simmering lava of militancy inside. The government time and again declared victory against militancy when militants were only spreading their tentacles all across,โ Panun Kashmir chairman Ajay Chrungoo told reporters here.
He said the Centre deployed โstatistical jargonโ to prove that the situation was improving while militants continued to consolidate their hold inside the forests of Jammu.
โThe central government has not understood the message when Shiv Khori pilgrims were attacked (on June 9) and continues with its tourist policyโฆ the dangers to all types of tourists are not hidden and are not subtle to escape common sense,โ he said.
Chrungoo said the group recognised the reality that the ecosystem of militancy gets help from Pakistan but it is also a โbitter truthโ that this ecosystem has germinated by getting โnourishment from policies and persons existing insideโ. (PTI)
