Kashmiri Doctor does a perfect hattrick, tops all three Super-Speciality exams in AIIMS, NEET, PGI
Srinagar: If success is a habit, Mohsin Raj Mantoo, a 29-year-old doctor from Kashmir has internalized it so much that it is second-skin to him. No challenge is insurmountable, no destination out of reach. To prove it, he scored a perfect hattrick by topping all three Super Speciality examinations in AIIMS, NEET and PGI.
Hailing from Anantnag district of South Kashmir, the young doctor with a self-effacing demeanour, was an ace student right from his childhood.
“I attended a school in my locality. Later, I did 12th from Iqbal Memorial institute, Anantnag where I secured a first rank in the medical stream of my batch,” Dr Mohsin told Free Press Kashmir.
He then studied medicine from Government Medical College, Srinagar in 2010, where he again proved to be a topper of his MBBS batch.
“I did my internship from GMC itself. As a part of our career, we have to appear in the PG entrance examination. I had appeared in NEET, AIIMS and PGI. I got selected in all three of them. I chose AIIMS where I did my MD in Pediatrics,” he said.
An achiever by choice, he was again a topper of his batch at AIIMS, pediatrics.
“My MD finished in July, 2020. After a brief preparation period of three months, I appeared in Super Speciality exams in NEET, AIIMS and PGI. My choice for Super Speciality was Cardiology,” he said.
He topped all the Super Speciality exams.
Asked how he does this, “the biggest challenge is always myself. I have never entertained complacency and always pushed myself harder to reach the goals. Also, it’s a marathon. The one who runs the longest wins,” he responds in a confident tone.
He credits his parents and wife for his achievements.
“My father and mother have always been supportive and encouraging of my career choices. Besides, my wife, who is also a doctor has been my push factor. It’s the support of each other which keeps us going,” he said. (FPK)
