Kashmir Valley Observes Shutdown Against Militant, Civilian Killings
Srinagar: Kashmir valley observed a complete shutdown on Monday in protest against the killings of 5 militants and a civilian in an encounter at Kulgam district’s Chowgam village on Saturday.
The shutdown call was given by JRL (Joint Resistance Leadership) comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq against the fresh militant, civilian killings in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
All shops, schools, business establishments remained closed today and traffic movement was also seen affected today.
Pertinently, five militants were killed in an encounter with government forces and a civilian was also killed during clashes near encounter site at Chowgam village in Kulgam district on Saturday.
