Kashmir Shuts Against Militant, Civilian Killings In South Kashmir Parts
Srinagar, Nov 26: A complete shutdown on Monday called by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman and Mohammad Yasin Malik, the JKLF Chairman against more than 17 killings in last three days hit normal life across Kashmir.
Reports said shops, business outlets, commercial establishments, Schools and colleges are closed. The attendance in government offices schools and colleges is almost negligible as passenger vehicles are off the roads. The movement of private vehicles is rarely witnessed on the roads in Srinagar city and major towns of Kashmir valley.
As reported already the Joint Resistance Leadership called for shutdown on Monday after receiving reports about the killing of six militants and a civilian during a gunfight in Shopian district and one militant during a brief shootout in Khrew area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
