Kashmir Is Open, Always Welcoming: Sakina Itoo

Pahalgam, May 27  : Minister of Health & Medical Education, School and Higher Education, and Social Welfare, Government of Jammu and Kashmir Sakina Itoo, while speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Senior Correspondent, said the cabinet meeting held in Pahalgam marks a significant moment for the region and reflects the government’s commitment to local development.

“We haven’t come here after a long time. We live in Jammu and Kashmir and frequently visit Pahalgam. But today’s cabinet meeting, hosted by the Honourable Chief Minister, is a very positive and important step,” Itoo said.

She emphasized that the meeting also served to condemn a recent incident in the area and to express solidarity with the people of Pahalgam.

Responding to queries, she said, “Yes, decisions have been taken and will be made public soon, God willing.”

Calling the CM’s presence in Pahalgam a matter of great pride for the locals, she added, “Deputation after deputation came forward, shared their concerns with the CM, and he assured them that necessary action would be taken.”

When asked about the reopening of tourist spots, Itoo told KNS, “Kashmir is not about opening or closing. It is always open. As people say, if there is heaven on Earth, it is here. Tourists are always welcome.”(KNS)
