Journalist Sajad Gul booked, arrested after written compliant filed by Tehsildar

Srinagar, Jan 11: Journalist Sajad Gul has been arrested after the local tehsildar filed a written compliant against him, revealed documents accessed by ANN News.
The official documents reveal that a written complaint of Tehsildar Hajin states he along with Police Party of carried out an anti-encroachment drive of government land at village Shahgund.
“The Gul’ maternal uncles namely Habibullah Dar, Mohammad Maqbool Dar and late Mohammad Akbar Dar of Shahgund had illegally encroached the government land which among other encroachments was also retrieved by Revenue Team,” it reads.
It added that during the evacuation and demolition drive, Gul was at Srinagar and had contacted the concerned Tehsildar Hajin telephonically and threatened him.
On the compliant of Tehsildar, the Police took up investigation and subsequently filed charge sheet before the competent Court in Sumbal.
“Gul is resident of Baghat Mohalla Shahgund Bandipora. His cousin brother Waseem Raja Hakeem was a POK trained terrorist of JKLF outfit who got killed in an encounter at Gundpora Bandipora during year 1991,” said an official.
