JLNM hospital to augment oxygen generation capacity: DHSK
Srinagar: Director Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Mushtaq Rather Sunday visited the JLNM Hospital, Srinagar and took stock of its oxygen generation plant.
In a statement issued here DHSK said the oxygen plant is of immense significance for handling Covid Emergencies and the concerned mechanical department assured to make the second phase fully functional soon.
It said that JLNM, a dedicated Covid hospital, would increase the oxygen generation capacity from 300 LPM presently to 1300 LPM.
“After the augmented oxygen generation plant we will be able to serve more high risk Covid patients where high flow oxygen is indicated,” the statement said.
It said once the facility is ready it would lower the burden on tertiary care hospitals.
The director also visited various sections of the hospital to review the preparedness in view of surge fresh Covid cases.
“The hospital is already equipped with oxygen manifold system for regulating flow of oxygen supplies,” it read.
The director also visited Covid vaccination site at Gurdarwara Chatti Padshahi Kathi Darwaza, Srinagar along with CMO Srinagar & MS Gousia Hospital.
He interacted with the vaccination team from Khanyar zone one and appreciated their efforts for vaccinating the targeted population.
The director directed the administrators and vaccination staff to explore all possible means of sensitization and the IEC so that no one among targeted population is dropped.
He also toured Gousia Hospital wherein he inspected all the health care sections.
The administration of Gousia hospital apprised him about the health care services and the status of vaccination center established in the hospital.
The DHSK gave on spot directions to MS Gousia Hospital to further improve the gaps which were deliberated upon during the discussion.
