J&K LG briefs Defence Minister on LoC situation, anti-militancy operations
NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and discussed with him security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after ceasefire between India and Pakistan militaries last month.
Sinha’s meeting with the Defence Minister came amidst ceasefire on the LoC and all other Sectors between India and Pakistan which was enforced by the two militaries on February 25. Since the fresh ceasefire which was follow up of November 2003 agreement between the two neighbours, not a single shot has been fired either on the LoC or on the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir @manojsinha calls on Defence Minister,” a tweet by the Defence Minister said.
There was no official word on what transpired at the meeting between Rajnath and Sinha either by the Defence Ministry or the Union Territory Government. (Agency)
