JEE (Mains), NEET 2020 postponed till May end
New Delhi: JEE Mains 2020 and NEET 2020 have been postponed to the last week of May 2020 due to the Coronavirus crisis that has engulfed the entire world. The decision to postpone the exams further was announced by Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Cabinet Minister for Human Resource Development.
“Since Parents and Students have to travel to different examination centres, to avoid any inconvenience to them, I have directed National Testing Agency to postpone NEET (UG) 2020 and JEE (Main) till last week of May,” tweeted Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
“We are hopeful that we would get back to normal situation relatively soon; but for now, various concerned ministries and examination boards are examining the scenario to evaluate the situation that may necessitate any change in the schedule. As of now the examination is proposed to be held in the last week on May 2020. Exact date will be announced later on after assessing the situation,” says a letter from the National Testing Agency on NEET 2020.
MHRD arrived at this decision as JEE Mains 2020 required examinees to travel to other centers and in some cases even to other cities, which has to be avoided as per the advisory issued by the government.
