Jammu Police Intensifies Actions Against Sand Mafia

Jammu: Jammu Police under SSP Chandan Kohli has intensified actions against Sand Mafia

 On specific information, Police teams led by SDPO R S Pura DySP Shabir Khan comprising of SHO RS Pura Inspector Jai Pal Sharma, SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Mirza Sultan, SHO Arnia Inspector Harjeet Singh raided the mining areas in Tawi bed along Badyal Brahmana and arrested sand extractors and seized their tractors and trolleys.

Seeing the policemen, mining mafia along with their supporters pelted stones on police parties thereby injuring Police personnel.

Four Police personnel including a probationary Sub Inspector got injured and were taken for medical treatment.

Subsequently FIR under Sections 307, 353, 147,148, IPC and Mining Act was lodged at Police station R S Pura. Police is raiding different locations to arrest the absconding accused.

Meanwhile, a similar action has been taken by SHO Police Station Akhnoor Inspr. Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial where 5 different vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized.
