Jammu and Kashmir Admin extended ‘Corona lockdown’ by one more week

SRINAGAR – The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration on Saturday extended the Corona lockdown across Union Terrority by one more week till 31st May 2021.

However, esential services shall continued remain functional. The Deputy Commissioner’s will be given limited flexibility to ensure economic activities don’t suffer.

The decision has been taken to contain Covid-19 cases that were on rurge from last couple of weeks. However the Union Terrority witnessed slide dip in positive cases from last one week.

Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Jammu and Kashmir in a tweet said, “Corona Curfew imposed in all 20 districts of J&K till 7 am on Monday, 24/5/21 is extended further till 7 am on Monday, 31/5/21. Curfew will be strict except for a few essential services.”

“DCs being given limited flexibility to ensure economic activities do not suffer,” it added.

Pertinetly it is to mention that Jammu and Kashmir adminstration had imposed lockdown on 29th April in 11 districts which was later extended to entire Union Terrority to contain Covid-19.
