Bandipora: Local administration on Friday sealed a Jamaat-e-Islami owned school in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora, only to unseal it moments later after the intervention of the locals.
An official said that Tehsildar along with other revenue officials and police team of Ajas police post had sealed Islamia Model School Ajas, owned by Falah-e-Aam Trust Jammu and Kashmir.
“However, after the intervention by locals they unsealed the school,” he said.
The official said that local administration had the impression that the school was an office of the Jamaat-e-Islami and that is why it was sealed.
SSP Bandipora, Rahul Malik said that the school was earlier sealed by the revenue officials but it has been unsealed now.
Jamat-e-Islamia Jammu and Kashmir was banned by the Home Ministry last night.
