It is official, RR Swain is new Police Chief

Srinagar, Oct 27: The Union Government Tuesday announced appointment of much decorated senior police officer RR Swain to be the next Director General of Police in J&K.

The order issued in this regard by Union Ministry said that Swain would hold charge of DGP in addition to his own existing duties.

“With the approval of Competent Authority, Shri R.R. Swain, IPS
(AGMUT:1991) presently posted as Special DG, CID, Jammu Kashmir will also
function as in-charge Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir in addition
to his existing charge with effect from 01.11.2023 and until further order,” it reads.

Pertinently, ANN News was first to break the news that Swain would be next DGP of J&K.
