International Yoga day: GDC Sunderbani holds series of programmes
SUNDERBANI, JUNE 22: Government Degree College, Sunderbani, organized a series of weeklong activities to commemorate 6th International Yoga Day under the supervision of Professor, Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College from 15th to 21st June.
The NSS unit and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) unit of the college organized a national level poster making competition on the topic “Yoga: fitness for all”.
About 20 students from different institutions including GCW Parade, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Banasthali Vidyapith University Rajasthan, Lady Willington Institute in Education Triplicane, Chennai, GDC Sunderbani, MC Khasla College of Education Jammu and GDC Bhaderwah took part in the competition.
Gurpreet Kour of MC Khalsa College of Education bagged the first prize while second prize was shared by Rajan Sharma, GDC Sunderbani and Ashu Devi GDC, Bhaderwah and third prize was clinched by Nidhi Verma, GCW Parade, Jammu. Besides, Ayushi Gupta, Banasthali University, Simran Devi, GCW Parade, Vishali Devi, GCW Parade and Sonali Sharma, GDC Sunderbani shared the consolation prizes.
Meanwhile, department of English in collaboration with NSS unit of the college organized an Intra-College Essay Writing Competition on “Yoga: A key to Wellness” Coordinated by Professor Davinder Kumar and Sanjana Devi, in which over 19 students of the college participated.
First prize was bagged by Shaskhi Sharma for best essay which will be forwarded to Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K for Best Essay Competition at provincial level. Besides, second prize was shared by Sonali Sharma and Bindiya Sharma while third prize was bagged by Sonia Jaral.
Also, an Intra College Video Clip shooting competition was conducted by GDC Sunderbani in which 10 students participated. The first prize was bagged by Rajan Sharma, second by Muddsir Mughal and third prize was bagged by Monu Sharma of the College.
