Tral (Pulwama), May 11 : Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said that instability in Pakistan will have negative impact on Jammu & Kashmir
Talking to reporters, Mehbooba Mufti said the instability of Pakistan will definitely have negative impact on J&K. “Whatever is happening in Pakistan is not a new thing. Since Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s time, the parties in power have been jailing opposition leaders,” she said, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Mehbooba visited Jamia Noor-Ul-Islam which was gutted in fire incident a day before.
The PDP president said that India has also started following Pakistan’s trend of jailing opposition leaders. “The way Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from Parliament and Manish Sisodia was arrested, it seems the Government of India has started following the trend of Pakistan,” she said.
She said that condition in India are also similar to Pakistan as Rahul Gandhi, the face of Congress, can’t fight elections for six years and other opposition leaders are also being targeted.
“In Pakistan, ruling parties instead of fighting opponents politically have been using short-cuts to jail them by using different agencies. Same is being done in India now,” She said.
She said that if the same trend is followed here, the condition in India will become like what is happening in Pakistan right now.
She urged the government and people to help Jamia Noor- Ul- Islam management for its reconstruction as hundreds of students are studying Quran and Hadith there—(KNO)
