India, Pakistan armies exchange sweets at LoC in Kupwara on Eid

Teetwal, July21  Following the 25 February border ceasefire pact between India and Pakistan, the two armies of two countries today exchanged sweets Teetwal crossing point along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, officials said.

Officials told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets and greeting each other on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Adha along Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal Sector Of Karnah.

He said that the soldiers of both countries along the border at Teetwal crossing point in Kupwara exchanged sweets and pleasantries on the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha in a genial and cordial atmosphere.

The official said that the crossing bridge at Teetwal has been a key enabler for peace meetings. The newly achieved calm along the LoC as a result of ceasefire agreement has brought warmth which has been displayed on several occasions between the two neighbours.

He said that the sweets exchange is a gesture appreciated by both countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival with a hope of better future ahead.

Local people on either sides also termed this gestures are deemed to foster peace and harmony which in turn will bring succour to the population living along the borders and promote prosperity and happiness and expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival.

He futher siad that Tmthe exchange of sweets was held at 11:30 AM today with adherence to all COVID Protocols by both sides.(KNS)
