Police arrests 5 persons, seizes 4 vehicles in Kulgam

March 06: Acting tough against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 05 persons and seized 04 vehicles in Kulgam.

A police party of Police Station Devsar seized 03 vehicles (Tractors) and arrested 03 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Devsar. Similarly, a police party of Police Station DH Pora arrested 02 persons and seized a vehicle (Truck) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Vaishow.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Stations and further investigation have been initiated.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
