How long will people, policemen and youth of Jammu and Kashmir sacrifice their lives: Mehbooba Mufti

Jammu: On Saturday, February 20, a day after the death of 3 soldiers martyred in Jammu and Kashmir terror attacks. Former CM and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti of the state went to the house of martyred Constable Suhail Ahmed, located in Logaripora Aishmukam area of Anantnag city in Kashmir and met his family.

After meeting the family of martyr constable Suhail Ahmed, Mehbooba Mufti said, “The Indian government should think how long the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to make such sacrifices. This is a big problem. This should be resolved so that the bloodshed that is happening in the state should be stopped and the people of this place can live in peace. The cemeteries here are full. The BJP government at the centre should initiate a discussion with Pakistan to resolve the issue.”

Mehbooba Mufti has also demanded the inclusion of local people in the discussion to determine if there is no violence in the Union Territory. Martyr Constable Ahmad was a constable in the Jammu and Kashmir Police and was killed in the terror attack on Friday in the Baghat area of Srinagar city. Apart from Ahmed, another policeman was also martyred in this terrorist attack. While a policeman died in an encounter with terrorists in Budgam city. Three terrorists were also killed in an encounter in Budgam in the Shopian district of South Kashmir.

After meeting with the martyred constable’s family, Mehbooba called upon the central government to discuss with the people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. She said, ‘Government should think how long the people, policemen and youth of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to sacrifice their lives’.
