Holding tri-colour designed banners, protestors appeal LG to expedite legal process to punish guilty, release innocent

Srinagar, April 20: Various family members of youth accused in lynching case of DSP Muhammad Ayoub Pandit on Wednesday staged protest demonstrations, appealing Lieutenant Governor to expedite the legal process.
One of the banners which had appeal for expediting of legal process was designed as tricolor.
The protestors assembled at Press Enclave here, holding placard and banners which read: “Punish the culprits who killed DSP Muhammad Ayoub but release innocents” “We pray for eternal peace to departed soul of Muhammad Ayoub Pandit.”
“We express sympathy with the family of deceased and demand punishment to killers. But our children are innocent. Out of 87 prosecution witness, around 32 have deposed before court and nothing incriminating has come on record against our incarcerated children,” they said.
They appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to expedite the legal process in the case so that “their innocent beloved will get released,” adding, “We also demand strict punishment for those who killed the Pandit.”
