Helicopter Service from Poonch to Jammu Resumes, Public Expresses Gratitude to NC, Government

Poonch // In a significant move fulfilling a longstanding demand of the people of Poonch, the helicopter service between Poonch and Jammu has been reinstated. The service was officially inaugurated by MLA Haveli, Ajaz Ahmed Jan. This service is expected to not only provide timely transportation to Jammu but also offer immediate and effective travel options in emergencies.

The helicopter service was initially launched on December 21, 2023, but was discontinued after a brief period. The suspension of the service led to widespread public demand for its reinstatement. With the establishment of a new government in Jammu and Kashmir, this crucial service has been resumed, creating an atmosphere of joy and relief among the residents of Poonch. The locals have extended their gratitude to Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and MLA Haveli Poonch, Aijaz Ahmed Jan, for making this possible.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Haveli, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, acknowledged the difficulties faced by the public due to the suspension of the helicopter service. He emphasized that the reinstatement aims to address these challenges. He further assured that while the current fare for the helicopter service might be slightly high, efforts will be made to reduce it in the future, ensuring greater affordability for the general public.

Jan also reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing developmental projects in the Poonch district, promising that all necessary measures will be taken to resolve public issues effectively.

The resumption of the Poonch-Jammu helicopter service is seen as a significant step toward improving connectivity and addressing the needs of the region.
