Handwara Police Attach Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Worth ₹15 Lakh

 Handwara, Dec 11  : In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Handwara Police have attached a property worth ?15 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Reyaz Ahmad Lone, son of Sonullah Lone, a resident of Badrah Payeen Kralgund.

The property, consisting of a two-story building with two shops and a hall, was seized under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigations revealed that the property was illegally acquired through illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Reyaz Ahmad Lone has been implicated in an NDPS case registered under FIR No. 84/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act at Kralgund Police Station. He is currently detained at Kote-Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, under the PIT-NDPS Act.

The initiative has been widely appreciated by the local residents, who see it as a significant step in combating the drug menace in the region. Handwara Police reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes. (KNS)
