Handwara man grievously injured in scuffle, battling for life in SKIMS Soura
HANDWARA: A man, presumed to be in his forties, has sustained grievous injuries after an inter-family scuffle broke out of a land dispute in Humpora Langate in Handwara of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that the incident occurred on Monday last evening after members of a family entered into a verbal argument regarding some land dispute in Humpora Qaziabad, Mawar. The argument only intensified and in the course of time a person was hit by a stick on his head by another person – said to be his cousin brother.
The person identified as one Khursheed Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani sustained severe cranial injuries in the incident and was immediately removed to nearby health facility in Langate, where the medical staff sensing exigency asked the injured person be taken to District Hospital Handwara, however soon after administration of first aid, the doctors there referred him to SKIMS Soura on an immediate basis.
It has been learnt that the injured person continues to be critical condition, while this report is being filed.
Meanwhile a police official concerned confirming the unfortunate incident told that the main culprit Saif-ud-Din Wani son of Abdul Gani Wani has been arrested alongside three other members of the family for their complicit role in the offence. Three other persons however continue to be at large, the official said.
An FIR vide number 25/2021 under sections 307, 147 IPC has been registered in this regard for due investigations, the official added. (GNS)
