Gunfight rages in Bijbehara Anantnag, 2nd in last 24 hours
Anantnag: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants at Waghama village in Bijbehara town of Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
Sources said 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in this encounter.
Earlier government forces including Army’s 3 RR and J&K Police had launched cordon and search operation in the village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
Firing was going on when reports last came in.
Meanwhile authorities have snapped down mobile internet services in Anantnag district as a precautionary measure.
Pertinently this is the second encounter in Anantnag district in last 24 hours. Earlier encounter broke out at Runipora village in which 3 militants were killed.
