Gunfight breaks out in Tral

Tral (KI): A gunfight breaks out between government forces and militants at Brantal village in Tral township of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

Sources said 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in this encounter.

Earlier government forces including Army’s 42 RR, CRPF and J&K Police had launched a cordon and search operation in the village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile authorities have snapped down mobile internet services in Tral area as a precautionary measure.

Pertinently this is the second encounter in the day and 3rd in last 36 hours, earlier five militants were killed in two separate encounters in Anantnag and Kulgam. (KI)
