Gunfight breaks out in south Kashmir’s Shopian
Srinagar, July 18, : An intense gun battle broke out between militants and security forces in Check-Sadiq area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday evening.
Reports reaching News Agency that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area on specific inputs about the presence of militants.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
As per the sources top LeT commander Ishfaq Dar along with his associate are believed to be trapped in this gunfight. (KDC)
