Gunfight breaks out in Meej Pampore

Pampore: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants in Meej area of Pampore town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday evening.

Reports said, 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in this encounter.

Earlier, government forces including J&K Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF had launched cordon and search operation in Meej area following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Firing was going on when reports last came in.
