Grenade Attack in Srinagar’s TRC Area Injures 12, One Woman Seriously Hurt

Srinagar, November 3, 2024 – A grenade attack on security forces deployed near Srinagar’s crowded Sunday Market at around 2:10 p.m. left 12 civilians injured, with one woman sustaining serious injuries. The incident occurred in the TRC (Tourist Reception Center) area, causing panic and chaos as the grenade exploded amidst a busy crowd.
Following the attack, police quickly took control of the situation, securing the area and providing immediate assistance to the injured. The victims were promptly transported to local hospitals for medical care.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched an investigation, registering a case (FIR No. 66/2024) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, sections 109 and 115(2) of the BNS, and sections 3/4 of the Explosives Substances Act, at Police Station Kothibagh.
Officials have expressed strong condemnation of this act of terror, reaffirming their commitment to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
