Govt sets up Inquiry Committee to Probe Allegations of Pregnancy Report Falsification, Illegal Termination Offers

Srinagar, March 8: Government has establishes high-level Inquiry Committee to investigate alleged falsification pregnancy reports and termination offer by a doctor in Srinagar.

The Committee is headed by District Health Officer Dr Rubina, Sources privy to development told ANN News.

Other members of the committee include Zonal Medical Officer (ZMO) Batamaloo Dr Sami and ZMO SR Gunj Dr Shafqat and Dr Parvaiz.

The committee has been asked to submit its findings in the shortest possible time.

“The committee, comprised of experts from relevant field, has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the matter,” said an official.

When contacted Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Dr Tahir Sajad confirmed setting up of inquiry committee.

In response to mounting concerns over allegations of forging false pregnancy reports and demanding money for its termination, the government has the establishment of a high-level inquiry committee.

The decision to form the committee comes amidst growing public outcry and demands for accountability.

On 5 March, this year, taking cognizance of ANN News reports, authorities have taken action to seal a clinic at Bemina Srinagar.

Following the expose by ANN News, the clinic came under scrutiny after allegations surfaced against a doctor accused of falsifying pregnancy reports and offering termination services for profit.

Health officials have reiterated their commitment to transparency and accountability, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and impartial inquiry into the allegations.

The inquiry committee is expected to examine evidence, interview relevant stakeholders, and gather information from various sources to determine the veracity of the allegations.

As the inquiry gets underway, all eyes will be on the committee’s proceedings, with many hoping for a swift and just resolution to the allegations which has shaken public at large.

Besides internal probe ordered by the Health Department, the victim has also approached Srinagar Police, seeking registration of the case against doctor.
