Govt Orders Prosecution Of 2 Kulgam Youth For ‘Aiding’ Militants
Srinagar, Dec 4: The state government has accorded sanction for the prosecution of two Kulgam youth for “harboring and aiding” the active militants of the area.
Official sources told GNS that on March 27 police station Kulgam came to know through reliable sources that since from some time, two persons –Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Tazipora Mohammad Pora and Parvaiz Ahmad Pala son of Mohammad Ayoub Pala of Matibugh Yaripora besides “other unknown persons” are harboring, aiding the active militants of the area.
Subsequently, the officials said a case (FIR No. 62/2018) under section 18,18-B, 19,38,39 ULA(P) Act 1967 and 7/25 Arms Act was registered in Police Station, Kulgam.
“During the course of the investigation and as per the evidence collected, it has been found that the accused persons namely Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Ahmad Pala have been found involved for the commission of offenses U/S 18,18-B,19,38,39 ULA(P) Act and 7/25 IA Act,” the officials said.
The official added: “On the basis of evidence collected during the course of the investigation and the statement of witnesses recorded U/S 161 CrPC and 164-A CrPC as well as recovery of arms/ammunition, prima-facie case made out against the accused persons for the commission of aforementioned offences”.
The government in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (2) has accorded sanction for the prosecution of Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Tazipora Mohammad Pora and Parvaiz Ahmad Pala son of Mohammad Ayoub Pala of Matibugh Yaripora for the offences punishable under Section 18-18-B,m 19, 38 and 39 of the UPAP arising out of the FIR.
