Govt Forces Hold CASO In Kashmir’s Capital City

Srinagar: Government forces on Friday carried out a cordon and search operation in the heart of this capital city.

Around 3:00 pm, special operations group (SOG) personnel assisted by the paramilitary CRPF came in armored vehicles and laid a cordon from historic Ghanta Ghar to the court road, Lal Chowk here, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Besides frisking, the commuters and pedestrians were also asked to produce the identity cards, they said. The government forces also checked the vehicles in and around the business hub thoroughly.

The searches were going on when the last reports came in.
