Govt extends winter vacation in Jammu till January 14
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday ordered an extension of winter vacations for all Government and recognised private schools up to Higher Secondary level in the summer zones of Jammu Division till January 14, 2026.
The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions in the region.
Earlier, the schools were scheduled to reopen on January 12, 2026.
In an earlier order, the government had announced winter vacations in a phased manner from December 22, 2025 to January 10, 2026 for pre-primary to Class 5, December 26 to January 10 for Classes 6 to 8, and December 29 to January 10 for Classes 9 to 12. — (KIMS)
