Baramulla: A day after Government High School Sangri Top Baramulla recorded zero pass percentage in the annual regular 10th class examination, parents and locals staged protest against the staff and educational authorities demanding immediate action against the teachers.
According to protesting locals, GHS Sangri Top has 12 teachers for 95 students having only four students in class 10th which appeared in the examinations but none among them passed recording zero percent results.
The protesting locals allege that teachers are not performing their duties properly and results are dismal.
“The teachers come here to pass the time. The students belong to poor parents. Why can’t students pass the exams which is disgusting not to talk of distinctions and good marks,” another resident Riyaz Ahmad Khan said.
The protesting locals demanded stern action against the teachers and appealed CEO Baramulla for his personal intervention besides Director School Education Kashmir must reshuffle the staff.
When Chief Education Officer Baramulla (CEO) G. M Lone was contacted he was in a meeting, later, he called back this reporter and ironically asked why this reporter went to cover the protest?
“CEO Baramulla neither wants to give his version nor comes clear as to what department has done so far against the teachers,” said another local.
