Good to see downtown youth engaged in sports activities: ADGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar

Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar Wednesday said it is good to see that downtown youth are engaged in sports activities. He urged upon youth to concentrate on studies and sports activities and shape their future in the right direction.
“It is good to see that downtown youth are today busy in sports activities. They are participating in sports event wholeheartedly which shows their enthusiasm and passion towards sports,” ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar as per KNS said on the sidelines of a cricket tournament held in Shehr-e-Khas area of Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar.
ADGP Vijay Kumar while hailing the efforts of ANN News said, “The J&KSC has organized many sports events in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley. During these sports events, volume of youth ensured their participation and showed their passion towards the game. It is good to see such number of youth engaged in sports activities. I believe the frequency of such events should be increased in coming times”.
He said the people-friendly efforts of J&K Police have reinvigorated the confidence of people on security forces. “If police will mind its own business like fighting militancy, curbing drug menace and making society evil-free, it restores confidence of people on the force.” he said and assured “J&K Police stands with the youth of Kashmir”.
He urged upon youth to concentrate on their studies and stay away from drugs. Besides he also appealed to parents to keep watch on their kids and ensure their welfare and wellbeing.
Earlier in a first a cricket tournament which was broadcasted live on television was held in Rajouri Kadal area of Srinagar’s downtown. The tournament was part of J&K Qualifier League in which several teams of Srinagar district participated.
ADGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar at the occasion congratulated organizers for holding such a grand tournament in the downtown Srinagar successfully. He also thanked people of downtown for extending their support throughout the tournament. He appealed participants and spectators to maintain this peaceful atmosphere in the district and contribute their role in nation building. (KNS)
