Gaurav Khanna lifts Bigg Boss 19 trophy; Farhana Bhatt runner-up

MUMBAI — Television actor Gaurav Khanna on Sunday lifted the Bigg Boss 19 trophy after defeating Farhana Bhatt, who finished as the first runner-up. With this victory, Gaurav took home the coveted trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh.

Farhana Bhatt emerged as the first runner-up, while stand-up comedian Pranit More secured the second runner-up position. Tanya Mittal finished third runner-up, and singer-composer Amaal Mallik ended the season as the fourth runner-up.

Gaurav, who has been working in television for nearly two decades, made his acting debut in 2006 with Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan. Over the years, he appeared in several TV serials, including Meri Doli Tere Angana (2007), Jeevan Saathi – Humsafar Zindagi Ke (2008), Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam (2009), Prem Ya Paheli – Chandrakanta (2017) and Tere Bin (2022). He gained widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Anuj Kapadia in the popular serial Anupamaa (2021–2023).

In 2025, Gaurav participated in Celebrity MasterChef India and won the competition — and now ends the year by winning Bigg Boss 19.

Born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Farhana Bhatt is a Kashmiri actress and a five-time Taekwondo national champion. She completed her Mass Communication degree from the Government College for Women, Srinagar, and later trained in acting at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares, Mumbai.

Farhana made her Bollywood debut with Sunshine Music Tours and Travels (2016), followed by roles in Laila Majnu (2018) and Notebook (2019). She later ventured into OTT, appearing in The Freelancer, India’s Brave Chapter 2, Country of Blind, and several music videos.

The grand finale, hosted by Salman Khan, witnessed a dramatic sequence of eliminations. Amaal Mallik became the first to exit after a family-based puzzle challenge where his relative was unable to complete the task due to a missing puzzle piece. His unexpected eviction was followed by Tanya Mittal’s elimination during a segment featuring actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, who were present to promote their upcoming film.

Later in the night, Pranit More was evicted, leaving Gaurav Khanna and Farhana Bhatt as the top two finalists.

Gaurav was eventually declared the winner of Bigg Boss 19, concluding one of the season’s most closely followed journeys.

Bigg Boss is one of India’s most popular reality shows, where contestants live together under constant camera surveillance with no access to the outside world. They perform tasks and face weekly eliminations through public voting. The format tests personality, strategy and resilience, often turning participants into major public figures by the end of the season.
