For Immediate Release
Sehar Khan Invited to United Nations Event as a Young Global Voice for Migrants and Environmental Leadership
Srinagar, J&K – Sehar Khan, a young scientific environmental activist from Kashmir, India, has been officially invited by the United Nations Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (UN CMW 41st Session) to attend and participate in their high-level session and public event in Geneva.
This invitation recognizes her growing international role as a youth representative, policy contributor, and one of the emerging South Asian voices advocating for environmental justice, migration rights, and sustainable development.
Despite coming from a conflict-affected region, Sehar Khan has consistently represented India on prestigious global platforms, including COP16, G20 youth spaces, and multiple UN-associated international forums. Her work reflects the strength, resilience, and progressive vision of India’s young generation.
Speaking on the invitation, Sehar stated:
> “This is not just my personal achievement. I carry with me the voice of thousands of migrant workers, displaced communities, and young people who aspire to make a difference. I represent Kashmir. I represent India. If I can reach here, any young person from any corner of the world can rise beyond limitations.”
Her participation in this UN session sets a historic example for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and for young leaders across India, demonstrating how dedication, scientific awareness, and community-driven activism can lead to global acknowledgment.
Sehar’s journey stands as a powerful symbol for GenZ—showing that young voices can influence international dialogue, strengthen India’s global presence, and champion humanitarian causes.
The media is invited to highlight this significant milestone as Sehar Khan steps forward as one of India’s youngest voices shaping conversations at the United Nations on migration, human rights, and environmental stability.
