Friday prayers offered in Historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar after five months
Srinagar: Friday prayers were offered today in Historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Downtown Srinagar after a gap of five months due to coronavirus pandemic.
The Jamia Masjid was closed for prayers in mid march this year as a precautionary measure to avoid gatherings at religious places.
The government ordered re-opening of religious places across Jammu and Kashmir from 16th of August 2020 and asked people to visit religious places by following proper guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s).
Earlier this week, a Mouzin called for prayer in Historic Jamia Masjid on Tuesday and prayers were offered for first time in the mosque after five months.
The devotees offered Friday (Congregational) prayers for first time in Jamia Masjid Srinagar after gap of five months by following proper guidelines and SOP’s.
The devotees were seen happy and overjoyed after praying Friday prayers in Historic mosque after 21 weeks.
